The 4th of July Fireworks Blast is back this year. The night sky above the USS Yorktown will be full of red, white and blue fireworks to celebrate American independence.
While we are proud to announce the return of our biggest event, it will look a little different than the past. The most significant change – the celebration will be limited to the shore. There will not be a ticketed USS Yorktown Flight Deck option.
The museum will open for regular tours at 9 a.m. on Sunday, July 4. There will be a $20 parking fee charged all day. The parking spots in the lots will all be offered first-come, first-served basis. The last admission ticket for the museum will be sold at 3:30 p.m., and the ships will close at 5. The 4th of July party kicks off at 6 and will not cost you anything to attend, other than the parking fee.
The 4th of July Fireworks Blast celebration will run from 6-10 p.m. Local music venue Awendaw Green will bring local musicians to the stage to play live music. More than ten Lowcountry food trucks will sell delicious dishes for you to enjoy.
After several hours of live music and fun, fireworks will take to the sky from a barge in Charleston Harbor around 9:15 (we wait until the sunlight is completely gone).
After the fireworks show, Mount Pleasant Police will help traffic flow out of Patriots Point as efficiently as possible.
