National Marine Mammal Foundation Dolphin Doctor Hands-On Workshop Experience

MMF will conduct interactive Dolphin Doctor: On the Front Lines of Marine Mammal Medicine workshops for SEWE participants. This program focuses on marine mammal medicine, science, and technology, and applications to the conservation of marine mammals worldwide. Hands-on educational activities can be adapted for all ages, including mock wild dolphin health checks with inflatable dolphins; ultrasound demonstrations featuring real examples of baby dolphin, lung, and cardiac images from those impacted by oil spills; satellite tag tracking of animals; crossbow dart sampling; and entanglement examples.

Wings Over Water, a film co-produced by Ducks Unlimited and narrated by award-winning actor Michael Keaton, will showcase the importance of the Prairie Pothole Region of North America as a breeding and nesting habitat for birds. Through stunning visual storytelling, Wings Over Water will draw attention to this often-overlooked region and what it means for North American wildlife. After the film, there will be a Q & A with the film’s producers. Seating is first-come, first-served.

National Marine Mammal Foundation Dolphin Doctor Hands-On Workshop Experience

MMF will conduct interactive Dolphin Doctor: On the Front Lines of Marine Mammal Medicine workshops for SEWE participants. This program focuses on marine mammal medicine, science, and technology, and applications to the conservation of marine mammals worldwide. Hands-on educational activities can be adapted for all ages, including mock wild dolphin health checks with inflatable dolphins; ultrasound demonstrations featuring real examples of baby dolphin, lung, and cardiac images from those impacted by oil spills; satellite tag tracking of animals; crossbow dart sampling; and entanglement examples.
