Edisto Beach State Park
Edisto Beach State Park is a true hidden gem in the Lowcountry. The 1200-acre park is about an hour's drive from downtown Charleston. It boasts a large campground with 113 sites, furnished cabins and a day-use area with parking, beach access, shelters and picnic tables. Visitors can also enjoy a wide range of outdoor recreational activities, including walking on the beach, swimming, fishing, and kayaking. The park also has a series of short, mostly level trails that wind through Edisto Island’s maritime forest of live oak, hanging Spanish moss, and palmetto trees. During your walk, you may encounter white-tailed deer, osprey, alligators, or even a wary bobcat.
